Exchange Visitor Training/Internship Program
The A. James Clark School of Engineering provides a small number of training/internship opportunities for international students who want to visit the University of Maryland for a research experience with a member of the engineering faculty. The training/internship experiences in engineering typically last three to six months. Requests for research training/internships from international students (non-degree seeking) are handled on an individual basis. Students should submit requests at least six months before their desired training/internship period.
There are two categories of experiences:
- Trainee: Trainees are required to have a degree and at least one year of work experience.
- Intern: Interns are not required to have a degree.
