Study AbroadStudy Abroad Recommendations for Aerospace Engineering Students

Most engineering study abroad programs require that students have attained junior standing (60 credits) and have completed their 100 and 200 level basic science courses (CHEM, MATH, PHYS), as well as the 100 and 200 level ENES courses (ENES 100, 102, 220, 221).

The Department of Aerospace Engineering recommends that aerospace engineering students complete the following courses at the University of Maryland. However, they will consider approving some of the following courses for study abroad.

ENAE 100 - Aerospace Engineering Profession
ENAE 261 - Aerospace Analysis & Computation
ENAE 283 - Intro to Aeronautical Systems
ENAE 311 - Aerodynamics I
ENAE 362 - Aero Instrumentation & Experiments
ENAE 464 - Aerospace Eng Lab
ENAE 403 - Aircraft Flight Dynamics
ENAE 414 - Aerodynamics II
ENAE 455 - Aircraft Propulsion & Power
ENAE 481 - Principles of Aircraft Design
ENAE 482 - Aeronautical Systems Design
ENAE 441 - Space Navigation & Guidance
ENAE 404 - Space Flight Dynamics
ENAE 457 - Space Propulsion & Power
ENAE 483 - Princ of Space Systems Design
ENAE 484 - Space Systems Design

With approval, any of the following aerospace engineering degree requirements could be completed abroad.

ENAE 202 - Aerospace Computing
ENAE 301 - Dynamics of Aerospace Systems
ENAE 324 - Aerospace Structures
ENAE 423 - Vibration & Aeroelasticity
ENAE 432 - Control of Aerospace Systems
ENAE 4xx - Elective
ENME 232 - Thermodynamics
Technical Elective (300 or 400 level course approved by the Department)
