FIRST YEAR

ENES 160 - Inventis Colloquium
This one-credit course introduces students to opportunities within the Clark School, from research and teaching fellowships to participation in student organizations. This course concentrates on developing a successful student-mentor relationship and includes activities to enhance the Inventis student's first year experience. ENES 160 is offered in fall of the first year.

ENES 170 - Inventis: Professional Concepts in Engineering
The focus of this one-credit seminar is on emerging technologies, career opportunities for engineers, ethics in engineering, engineering in the context of society, and technology entrepreneurship. ENES 170 is offered in spring of the first year.

SECOND YEAR

ENES 270 - Inventis: Professional Skills in Engineering
This one-credit course prepares students for practical leadership experiences through lectures on resume writing, interviewing, technical writing, engineering in a global environment, working in teams, and intellectual property and standards. ENES 270 is offered in fall of the second year.

Topics in Engineering Leadership
In this three-credit course, students have the option to work individually or as a team to complete a semester-long leadership project. This class will be offered in spring of the second year, and is required for those students who do not take ENES 317.

ENES 317 - Introduction to Engineering Leadership
This three-credit course focuses on defining engineering leadership in the classroom and in practice. Topics include communication, ethics, and etiquette, writing persuasively, understanding yourself and others, and building successful teams. ENES 317 is offered in spring of the second year. Completion of this class, in addition to the three seminars, gives Inventis students six credits that are applicable towards the Minor in Engineering Leadership Development.
