Leadership Involvement
Students looking to gain practical leadership experience will find significant opportunities within the Clark School of Engineering. Positions for undergraduate students in teaching, research, student organization leadership, and co-ops and internships can also be found across the University of Maryland campus.
Teaching
Teaching Fellowships are available for a variety of engineering courses, including:
- ENES 100: Introduction to Engineering Design. Learn more about ENES 100 Teaching Fellowships.
- ENES 102: Statics
- ENES 220: Mechanics of Materials
- ENES 221: Dynamics
Teaching Fellows often receive a stipend or course credit in exchange for 10-12 hours of work per week.
Departments also offer opportunities for students to gain experience as a teaching assistant.

Research
Professors and researchers across campus aim to provide students with opportunities to gain laboratory research experience.
