AIST Foundation Scholarships
AIST Foundation scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to talented and dedicated students to encourage them to pursue careers within iron- and steel-related industries. Approximately $340,000 will be awarded each year through foundation scholarships, FeMET Scholarships, StEEL Scholarships, endowment scholarships and Member Chapter scholarships. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2010.
ASHRAE Scholarship Program
The scholarship program of The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) is designed to encourage and assist heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) education through its granting of scholarships. The program also serves the public interest by aiding in the education of men and women to become engineers qualified in the HVAC&R field. Applications are available at www.ashrae.org. Deadline for 2010/2011 applications is December 1, 2009.
American Society of Naval Engineers
ASNE sponsors a scholarship program to encourage students to enter the field of naval engineering and to provide support to naval engineers seeking advanced education in the field. Programs of study can include mechanical, civil, aeronautical, and electrical engineering. Scholarship awards of $3000 for undergraduates and $4000 for graduate students will be made for 2009/2010. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens. To obtain an application and further information visit the ASNE website at www.navalengineers.org. Applications must be received by February 16, 2009.

Association for Women in Science
(AWIS)
AWIS is an organization
for women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that awards scholarships to female undergraduates in their second or third year of college. The deadline is January 29, 2010 .
Association of State Dam Safety Officials
2009 Dam Safety Scholarship Program for civil engineering students. ASDSO is a national association dedicated to furthering dam safety in the United States. Up to $10,000 will be awarded for 2009/2010 school year. Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level during the 2010/2011 school year in an accredited civil engineering program. Undergraduate students planning to graduate in May/December 2011 will be eligible for the 2010 scholarship. Minimum GPA 2.5. Applications are available on the SDSO's website: www.damsafety.org. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 29, 2010.
Chicago Committee on High-Rise Buildings Scholarship (CCHRB)
CCHRB offers an annual scholarship. Eligibility is limited to those Colleges and Universities that have an alumnus who is a member of CCHRB. The student's area of study must be directly related to some aspect of the economic design, construction, operation, and/or rehabilitation of high-rise buildings. Graduate students are eligible, highly qualified undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply. The student must have at least one, and preferably two, semesters remaining. Deadline by email or postmark on or before March 25, 2009.

Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program
The Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program covers a portion of educational expenses, including tuition, living expenses, required fees, and books for the final two to three years of the baccalaureate degreee. The amount and duration of awards vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. The maxiumum available per student is $30,000 per year. Deadline: January 2010
Gates Millennium Scholars
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding, low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline they choose. Applicants must meet
the federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Deadline to apply is on or before January 11, 2010 (paper) or January 11, 2010 at 11:59 pm (online).
Benjamin A. Gilman International
Scholarship
The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition
for awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International
Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S.
undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year
or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
NOAA Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
NOAA Office of Education Educational Partnership Program Scholarship for 2010. Up to $8000 in academic assistance per school year for full time study, 10-week, paid ($650/week) summer internship, and housing subsidy during summer internship. Eligibility requirements include sophomore standing, U.S. Citizenship, 3.0 GPA or better (cumulative and current), major in NOAA related discipline, which includes engineering. Deadline: January 29, 2010.
Kelly Engineering Resources - Future Engineers Scholarship Program
Kelly Engineering Resources - an engineering employment provider - offers the Future Engineers Scholarship Program. This national program will award one outstanding sophomore- or junior-level student with $5000 for 2010 tuition expenses. Scholarships are not awarded to Freshmen or to Seniors graduating on or before June 2010. Criteria includes: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status and GPA of 3.0/4.0 scale. Linda C. Lee Memorial Scholarship
Jennison Associates and the family and friends of alumna, Linda C. Lee created the Linda C. Lee Memorial Scholarship Endowment to honor her memory and to inspire outstanding undergraduates for years to come. Ms. Lee, a senior associate in the administration area at Jennison Associates in New York, perished in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Linda was like a beacon of light to all who knew her and she will be remembered in perpetuity through this scholarship. Scholarship awards will be bestowed upon undergraduates enrolled in science and technology majors. Eligible majors include, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, pre-med, etc. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit (3.25 cumulative GPA at all times), financial need, extracurricular activities, and a written essay (on page 2 of the application). Maryland Space Grant Consortium Scholarship
The Maryland Space Grant Consortium is soliciting applications for its 2010-2011 scholarship. Application Requirements: Maryland resident or graduate of a Maryland high school; Full-time student majoring in (but are not necessarily limited to): the biological and life sciences, chemistry, geological sciences, physics and astronomy, engineering and computer science; Enrollment in an affiliate institution of the Maryland Space Grant Consortium; Awards are for one year, but are renewable (on a competitive basis) upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA; U. S. Citizen; Community service. Deadline: All application materials are due by May 15, 2010 to the Maryland Space Grant Consortium. Maryland Space Grant Consortium will then forward the application to affiliate institution selected by student applicant.
MCAMW Scholarship
Mechanical Contractors Association of Metropolitan Washington (MCAMW) Scholarship is available to undergraduate women and men employed in the construction industry or seeking to learn or upgrade skills used in the construction industry. Applications must be received no later than February 25, 2010. Scholarship will be awarded on or about April 12, 2010.
The Joseph M. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship
Award
The Joseph M. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Award provides one-time awards of up to
$1,000 to students whose ability to succeed at our institution may be challenged by
some personal or family circumstance. Scholarships will be awarded each fall and each
spring semester to one or more deserving students. Application deadlines are May 1 and December 1. Please visit

Gary B. Multanen/Composites Manufacturing Magazine
Applied Research Student Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to undergraduate and graduate students participating
in composites-related research. One winning candidate will receive a $1000 award,
have his/her research published in Composites Manufacturing Magazine, and receive
an all expense paid trip to the ACMA Composites and Polycon 2009 conference. For information and application, visit the

NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program
The purpose of the NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program is to help advance the nation's aeronautics enterprise by investing in the educational development of the future aeronautics workforce and to provide opportunities to attract highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to aeronautics and related fields. Scholarships awarded include competitive stipend payments anticipated amount for undergrad up to $15,000 and up to $35,000 for graduate. There is an option to attend a summer internship (up to $10,000 per summer) at a participating NASA Research Center. The undergraduate program is open to U.S. citizens, and applicants should have at least two years of full time study left to complete their degree as of Fall 2010, and should be in good standing at an accredited college or university. The graduate program is open to U.S. citizens, the applicants should be accepted or enrolled in an accredited program, and remain in good academic standing at their respected college or university. Deadline January 11, 2010.
NASA MUST Scholarship Application
The Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology Program, funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is a joint partnership between NASA, the Hispanic College Fund, the United Negro College Fund Special Programs and the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers. The MUST program awards scholarships and internships to undergraduates pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, more widely know as STEM fields. The MUST Program is open to all students and is particularly focused on engaging students from underserved and underrepresented groups to enter STEM fields (Women, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and persons with disabilities).
Application opens November 1st.
National Association of Multicultural Engineering Scholarship
NAMEPA offers both national and regional scholarships for African American, Latino, and American Indian students who have demonstrated potential and interest in pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering. NAMEPA is offering scholarships under two categories: Beginning Freshmen and Transfer Engineering Student Awards. Deadline is May 15th.
National Security Exchange Program
Scholarship
The National Security Education Program (NSEP) is a scholarship
opportunity for U.S. undergraduates to study abroad. NSEP awards scholarships to
American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. national security
interests. NSEP has a government service requirement.
Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars
This scholarship program is intended to support promising high school
seniors who intend to pursue a career in an engineering-related field and who
live in communities where Electronic Systems is a major presence. For more information

Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholarship
The Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholarships are to fund current
University of Maryland students in engineering with an interest in working in the
defense industry. Scholarship deadline is October 31, 2008 .
PBS&J Minority Engineering Scholarship Program for Black Students
The purpose of the PBS&J Minority Engineering Scholarship program for Black Students is to assist Black students in completing their higher education, in Civil & Enronmental disciplines. PBS&J scholarships are available on a competitive basis to undergraduate Black students. Awards are up to $4,000 per student per year through selected and approved universities by PBS&J. Deadline to apply before June 20 each year.
Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) - Reading Chapter
The Reading Chapter of PSPE is awarding a one-time grant of $2000 to an undergraduate student who will be enrolled in the first semester of their final year in fall 2008. The award will be based on academic success, character, personal merit, commitment plus school and community involvement. Applicants must be residents of Berk County, PA with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Deadline for receipt of application and supporting documentation is May 29, 2009.

Colonel J. Logan Schutz ('38,'40) Legacy Scholarship
Admininstered by the University of Maryland Alumni Association, the Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship is for students who are junior standing, legacy to the university, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, have significant co-curricular involvement in any or all of the following areas: leadership/student organizations, athletics, religious/civic activities, and/or community service. The application is usually due in March.
SMART Scholarship for Service Program
Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program. The purpose is to promote the education, recruitment and retention of outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in science, mathematics, and engineering studies; the DoD is also interested in supporting the education of future scientists and engineers in a number of interdisciplinary areas. Scholarships awarded include a cash award, full tuition, required fees, and book and health insurance allowances. The SMART Program will allow individuals to acquire an education in exchange for a period of employment with the Department of Defense. The program is intended for citizens of the United States; students must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for an award. Application opens August 15, 2009 and the deadline is December 15, 2009.

The Vanguard® Women in Technology Scholarship Programs
Vanguard has established a scholarship program to assist female students entering their senior year of college who are majoring in computer science, computer engineering, web design, or related technical engineering disciplines. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at a select accredited four-year institution of the student’s choice. Deadline: November 30, 2009.
Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Washington DC Chapter Scholarship
The goal of the Women's Transportation Seminar Scholarship is to encourage women pursuing careers in transportation-related fields. The WTS Washington DC Chapter awards one graduate and one undergraduate scholarship during the 2009/2010 year. Award recipients are also nominated for the WTS International Scholarship. Deadline to apply is November 2, 2009.
Erik B. Young, M.D. International Travel-Study Award
Alumnus Dr. Erik B. Young wishes to support international travel-study for a group of undergraduates each year. There will be five International Travel-Study Abroad Awards with stipends of $2,500 each awarded for the 2009-2010 year. Travel can be scheduled in Summer 2009, Fall 2009 or Spring 2010. The purpose of the program is to give deserving undergraduate students the opportunity to broaden their international horizons while they hone their academic skills.
