Scholarships for New Transfer Students
Scholarships for new transfer students admitted to the A. James Clark School of Engineering are awarded annually. Students must complete the online scholarship application each year to be considered for Clark School Scholarships. For best consideration, complete the scholarship application by May 31, 2010. Scholarship applications are reviewed by the student's major department and at the college level (if the student's major is undecided) after spring grades are posted. Applicants will be considered for every scholarship administered by the Clark School for which they are eligible. Only students receiving a scholarship will be notified. Notification usually begins in mid-July. Please be aware that scholarship funding for the college changes each year. Students receiving scholarship funding one year may not receive the same or any funding in future years.
We strongly encourage students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as many engineering scholarships have a financial need requirement. The University of Maryland priority deadline for FAFSA is February 15 each year.
2010/2011 Engineering Scholarship Application

Thanking Your Scholarship Donor
The scholarship program in the A. James Clark School of Engineering is funded through generous contributions made by our alumni, industry partners, and friends of the college. It is important to acknowledge those contributions that help ease the financial burden of attending college for so many engineering students. Scholarship donors are also interested in learning about the students they support. We ask that all scholarship recipients write a thank you letter to the donors of their scholarship awards. To assist you in writing an appropriate and professional-looking thank you letter, we have prepared a handout entitled Thanking Your Scholarship Donor.
