Summer Programs: Terp Engineers
Spend a week as a Terp Engineer at the University of Maryland. Find out what engineers do, how engineering relates to the world around you, and if engineering is for you.
Program Dates
One session will be offered:
Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24, 2009
Times
9:30am to 3:30pm
Eligibility
Students entering 9th or 10th grades in Fall 2009 are eligible to apply. Due to a limited number of spaces, we are only able to accept 20 students for the program. We encourage students who have a strong interest in engineering, mathematics, and/or science to apply.
More About the Program
During the week, you will participate in a variety of activities and team projects that will help you build self-confidence in applying your math, science and engineering skills.
Cost
$500 (includes lunch daily Monday through Friday, project supplies, camp t-shirt, and more!). Families must arrange for transportation to/from home.
Do not include payment with the application. The camp fee will be due when you are accepted to the program. A limited number of partial scholarships are available, based on financial need. Students must demonstrate need as determined by the National School Lunch Program.
Application Process
Terp Engineers 2009 is completely filled and currently has a waiting list. No additional applications will be accepted. Please consider participating in the WIE LEAD Academies for other opportunities in engineering.
